Scotty E. Copeland, 18, of Catawissa died May 8 after he was ejected from a Jet Ski at the Catawissa Conservation Area Quarry Pit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5 p.m., Copeland was riding a 1984 Kawasaki Jet Ski and was ejected from the watercraft. He became fatigued and went under the water, the report said.
Divers recovered his body, and he was pronounced dead at 6:56 p.m. at the scene by Meramec Ambulance personnel, according to the report.
Copeland was not using a safety device, the patrol reported.
The Jet Ski was not damaged, and the owner took it from the scene, the report said.
