The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of catalytic converters from four Oats Transit vans parked in a lot in the 3800 block of Plass Road in the Hillsboro area. OATS Transit operates the Jeffco Express and other ride programs in Jefferson County, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The theft happened between Feb. 18 and March 8, when converters were cut off 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017 Ford Econoline E-450 vans. Altogether the damage to the vans was estimated at $3,600, the report said.
As of March 17, the converters had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
