Arnold Police are trying to identify a man reportedly seen in surveillance video outside two businesses on Fox Chase Industrial Drive where catalytic converters were stolen. Employees at Hotwire Electric, 1004 Fox Chase Industrial Drive, and Spartan Ram Jack St. Louis, 1000 Fox Chase Industrial Drive, reported that converters were stolen from company vehicles the same morning the man was seen outside the businesses, the report said.

The thefts were reported at about 7 a.m. Feb. 10, and the man allegedly was seen in surveillance video at about 2:30 a.m. that day, according to the report.

Catalytic converters were cut off a 2005 Ford E-250 and a 2015 Chevrolet van at Hotwire Electric, and a converter was cut off a 2021 Dodge Ram at Spartan Ram Jack St. Louis. The cost to repair Hotwire Electric’s vehicles was estimated at $3,000, and the cost to repair the Spartan Ram Jack St. Louis’ pickup was estimated at $3,000, the report said.

As of Feb. 15, none of the converters had been recovered, and the man in the video had not been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
