Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from five vehicles at a Eureka recreation vehicle dealership, where a section of fence surrounding the dealership was cut. The damage to the vehicles and the fence was estimated at $9,223.55, Eureka Police reported.

Police were called June 23 to Byerly RV, 295 E. Fifth St., when a customer discovered the catalytic converter was stolen from her 2010 Ford E-450 Four Winds RV. The woman had left the RV at the dealership May 20 for service, the report said.

Catalytic converters also were cut off a 2017 Ford E-450 Jayco Greyhawk, a 2022 Ford E-450 Thor Outlaw, a 2016 Ford E-450 Coachman Concord and a 2019 Ford E-450 Jayco Greyhawk, according to the report.

Investigators said it looked like a portion of the fence on the dealership’s west side was cut to allow the culprit to get onto the lot.

As of July 2, the stolen converters had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
