Festus Police patch

Festus Police are investigating the recent theft of catalytic converter from a pickup at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 635 S. Truman Blvd., Chief Tim Lewis said.

He said the theft was reported on Nov. 22, but the converter could have been stolen any time after the truck, a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500, was returned to the business several days earlier.

“On (the morning of) Nov. 22, they were checking the lot and noticed the catalytic converter had been taken from the vehicle,” Lewis said. “An employee reported that a customer returned the Dodge Ram about 4:20 p.m. Nov. 18.”

The employee said the vehicle was intact when the customer returned it to the business, Lewis said.

As of Nov. 29, the converter had not been recovered and no arrests had been made, he said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
