A catalytic converter was cut off a pickup parked overnight in a fenced-in lot between Soetebier Park and Kircher Park in Eureka. The theft happened between about 6 p.m. Sept. 2 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 3, Eureka Police reported.
A 55-year-old Wildwood man said he parked a 2017 Ford F-550 in a lot at 73 Williams Road between the two parks. He said the gate was locked, and there was no sign someone tampered with the entrance, the report said.
The catalytic converter was valued at $4,000, according to the report.
As of Sept. 10, the converter had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Capt. David Wilson said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
