The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at Macs Auto in the 4300 block of Jeffco Boulevard in the Arnold area.
The burglary occurred about 10:30 p.m. April 4, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
About $70 in cash was stolen, as was a set of keys that open tool boxes, bathrooms and a storage trailer at the business, the report said.
The business owners reported the burglary on April 5, and a deputy that responded to the scene viewed surveillance footage, which reportedly showed a white man walk around outside the business looking inside vehicles and then walk to the east side of the building, according to the report.
The victim said the culprit got inside the business through a garage door window on the south side of the business, the report said.
The suspect was wearing an orange stocking cap, a multi-colored jacket, light-colored cargo shorts and tennis shoes, according to the report.
A deputy got photos of shoe prints inside and outside the business that looked like they were from tennis shoes, the report said.
A police dog was brought to the scene and followed a track east of the business and then south through a wooded area into a nearby mobile home community at Eric Drive and Nicole Court before the track was lost, according to the report.
As of April 8, no stolen items were recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Maj. Ralph Brown of the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
