Eureka Police are investigating a burglary at Earthbound Recycling, 25 Truitt Drive. It looked like the culprit illegally entered the business, shattered a glass door leading to an office and drilled a hole into the top of a safe before stealing $7,668 and five blank checks, police reported.
At about 8 a.m. June 21, a manger arrived at the business and discovered the damage to the door and safe. In addition, the office was in disarray, the report said.
No estimate for the the door or safe was included in the report.
As of June 29, none of the money had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Tom Wille said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
