Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are investigating a theft from a car parked at Kircher Park on Williams Road near I-44. One of the windows on the 2018 Nissan Altima was shattered, and a purse was stolen from it, Eureka Police reported.

The theft occurred between about 5:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15, after a 56-year-old Grover woman parked the car. When she returned to her car, she discovered the rear driver-side window broken and the purse missing, the report said.

The purse contained credit cards, $200 in cash, a set of Apple AirPods and other items, and the purse and the other belongings were valued at about $350. The damage to the window was estimated at $300, according to the report.

As of Nov. 6, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
