The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a car and a travel trailer from a home in the 4800 block of Eva Rue Lane in House Springs. The blue 1981 Chevrolet Malibu was valued at about $20,000, and the 2004 Forest River Wildwood Travel Trailer was worth about $4,300, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The car and travel trailer were stolen between April 23 and May 6. A woman said she last saw the car in the garage and the trailer outside the home. She said the garage had been left unlocked, the report said.
The Malibu was a project car that had been restored and originally titled in Illinois. However, the car’s title had not been transferred, according to the report.
As of May 16, neither the car nor the trailer had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the theft should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
