Festus Police are investigating the theft of a car from outside a home in the 500 block of North Third Street. The stolen car is a 2000 Toyota Camry Solara, Festus Chief Tim Lewis said.
He said the victim, a 68-year-old woman who lives at the residence, reported the theft at 2:11 a.m. March 24.
“The victim last saw the car at 10:30 p.m. the day before,” he said. “She said the keys were inside the house. She doesn’t know how and when it was stolen.”
However, Lewis said one of the city’s Flock Safety license plate-reading cameras captured footage of someone driving the stolen Solara in the city at about 1:30 a.m. March 24.
As of March 28, the vehicle had not been recovered and no suspects had been arrested, he said. Anyone with information is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
