Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies are trying to find a car stolen from outside a home in the 700 block of Oakland Manor Drive in the Festus area. The silver 2008 Nisssan Altima was valued at $7,000, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim told deputies the car was stolen between about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 31 and 5:30 a.m. Sept. 1, after he returned from a gas station. He also told deputies he left the keys in the car, which has a keyless-entry feature, and he couldn’t remember if he had locked the car doors, the report said.

As of Sept. 15, the car had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
