The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent theft of a car from outside a home in the 3700 block of Athena School Road in the De Soto area. The car was stolen between 1 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. July 20 and was found Aug. 7 abandoned at the Holtie’s Restaurant and Pub parking lot, 13740 Old Hwy. M., in Barnhart, Cpl. Matthew Moore said.
The car, a brown 2013 Chevrolet Malibu valued at $12,000, was parked in a driveway with the keys inside when it was stolen. The victim told deputies she was at the home working with a client when it was stolen, a Sheriff’s Office report said.
As of Monday (Aug. 14), there were no suspects or arrests, Moore said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
