Charlene Michele Wibbenmeyer, 52, of Cadet was sentenced to 25 years in prison for selling and making methamphetamine, court records indicate.
Wibbenmeyer, a prior offender, pleaded guilty to felony distribution of a controlled substance, and on April 26, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll sentenced her to 10 years in prison to be served consecutively with a 15-year sentence she received for drug trafficking stemming from a January 2013 incident in Jefferson County. She may be released early if she successfully completes a 24-month treatment program, court documents show.
In June 2016, Wibbenmeyer, formerly of Hillsboro, sold a bag of meth to an undercover detective at a home in the 4300 block of Jarvis Road in Hillsboro. After she sold the meth to the detective, she said, “Well you got the last of my meth, but don’t worry, I’ll have more soon,” according to the probable-cause statement.
The substance was analyzed and tested positive for meth, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Trisha C. Stefanski handled the case.
In the January 2013 incident, Wibbenmeyer was found at a home in the 200 block of Palliet Street in Festus with items commonly used to make meth, like soda bottles filled with liquids and granular substances, a water bottle filled with lye, lighter fluid, a cold pack, used syringes and a digital scale. The substances in the bottles were tested and some turned out to contain meth, the probable-cause statement said.
Wibbenmeyer pleaded guilty to felony first-degree drug trafficking in that case, and in February 2015, Stoll sentenced her to 15 years in prison. However, she was released in June 2015 after completing a treatment program, and the sentence was suspended and she was placed on five years’ probation.
She violated the probation, though, so the 15-year term was executed, with the 10 years to be served consecutively to the 15-year term, court papers indicate.
Wibbenmeyer previously was convicted of felony drug possession tied to a June 2004 incident in Jefferson County.
She currently is in the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia.
