The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of jewelry from a home that was broken into in the 10200 block of Donna Drive in Dittmer. The home appeared to have been entered after a rear window was broken, authorities reported.
Deputies were called to the home on June 30 when the man who owns the house saw the broken window and discovered the jewelry was missing. The man said he had not been at the house since Jan. 11, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide an estimated value for the stolen jewelry or an approximate cost to repair the window.
As of July 2, the jewelry had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
