A broken-down SUV left on the side of the Hwy. 67 in the Festus area was stolen Jan. 18, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The De Soto victims told Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigators the maroon 1997 GMC Yukon had broken down about 5 a.m. Jan. 17 on northbound Hwy. 67 near Hwy. CC, and then it was moved to the shoulder near Donover, the report said.
One of the victims said she last saw the vehicle while traveling to work about 5 a.m. Jan. 18. However, on her way home at about 3:45 p.m., she noticed it missing, according to the report.
The estimated value of the Yukon is $4,000. As of Jan. 31, the Yukon had not been recovered, Sgt. Matthew Moore said.
He said there had been no arrests either. Anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
