briefcase left on parking lot

Police recently responded to a call about a briefcase, next to the red vehicle on right, that accidentally was left on the parking lot for the Kohl's and Aldi stores in Arnold.

A briefcase left last week on the parking lot for the Kohl’s and Aldi stores in Arnold caused some alarm, prompting a call to Arnold Police, who brought in a bomb dog to investigate, said Capt. Robert Ruckman of the Arnold Police Department.

Fortunately, it turned out there was nothing dangerous inside the case, which had accidentally been left on the lot, at 2150 Michigan Avenue, Ruckman said.

Arnold Police got a call about the briefcase the afternoon of Oct. 21, and the investigation lasted about an hour, he said.

Just about the time the bomb dog finished sniffing the case and police decided it wasn’t dangerous, the owner showed up and claimed it, Ruckman said.
