A 35-year-old Festus man was found shirtless and bleeding inside the McDonald’s restaurant at 515 S. Truman Blvd. in Festus this morning (Oct. 8), said Tim Lewis, the Festus Police chief.
He said Festus Police started getting calls about the man at 7:20 a.m.
Officers arrived and spoke to the man, who told them he lives on Maple Street, Lewis said.
“(The) man said he thought helicopters were coming to get him, jumped through a window in his house and ran to the McDonald’s,” Lewis added. “He had cuts on his face, arms and shoulders. He appeared to be under some kind of intoxicant. He just sat down (in the restaurant) and people started calling.”
The man was not arrested. He was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, Lewis said.
He said the incident remains under investigation.
