A mobile home in the 7000 block of Brittany Lane was consumed by flames late July 24.
The Hillsboro Fire Protection District got a call at 10:55 p.m. about the fire at the home off Klondike Road, Chief Brian Gaudet said.
“It was a single-wide mobile home,” he said. “There was extensive fire throughout the structure when firefighters arrived. The occupant, an adult male, had exited. There were no injuries.”
Gaudet said firefighters had the blaze contained in about 40 minutes and remained on the scene until about 1:30 a.m.
“It appears to be an accidental fire caused by cooking on the stove,” he said.
Gaudet said the occupant has other places on the property where he can stay.
“He had a camper on his property that was not damaged and another mobile home on the property not damaged, so he’s got options,” Gaudet said.
He said the Cedar Hill, Goldman, Mapaville, and De Soto Rural fire protection districts and the Big River Ambulance District helped with the call.
