The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to a High Ridge-area home on Nov. 30 because of suspicious subjects in the area. Two days earlier, rechargeable batteries and two drills were stolen from a vehicle in the area, a report said.
At 2:41 a.m. Nov. 30, deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Sandy Drive because a man said there were suspicious people behind his home that he believed were there to steal from him. The man told the deputies that two nights before someone had used a coat hanger to unlock his vehicle door and steal two Ridged-brand drills, 10 Ridged-brand batteries and six Milwaukee-brand batteries. The items were valued at $1,670, according to the report.
The man told the deputies he had not reported the stolen items because initially, he wasn’t sure if they were taken or misplaced. The deputies canvassed the area, but did not find any suspects, the report said.
As of Dec. 14, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no arrests made, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
