A 36-year-old Barnhart woman was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine and other drugs during a traffic stop. When the woman was stopped, she was driving a van authorities were looking for because it was suspected of being involved in a crime in St. Louis County, Arnold Police reported.
The woman also was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on two felony warrants for drug possession and one warrant for stealing, police reported.
At about 1:15 p.m. April 7, an Arnold Police officer saw the silver 2008 Chevrolet van the woman was driving leave the parking lot outside the Quality Inn, 3610 The West Outer Road. The officer pulled over the van in the parking lot outside the Schnucks store, 3900 Vogel Road, and allegedly saw a glass pipe on the passenger-side seat the woman tried to hide under her purse, the report said.
After the woman was arrested, a police dog indicated drugs might be in the passenger-side door, and an officer allegedly found a purse there that contained five loose Xanax pills and a scale with white residue. The officer also allegedly found a makeup bag that contained a bag filled with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth, a bag with white powder inside, a bag with blue powder inside, a used syringe and a scale, according to the report.
The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and held for one of the other law enforcement agencies. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police could seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
