Charles S. Fox Jr., 36, of Barnhart has been charged with burglary after he reporteddly was found with three sets of stolen golf clubs. He also was involved in a disturbance at his home on Marylin Drive, where he allegedly armed himself with one of the stolen clubs, authorities reported.
Fox was charged with first-degree burglary, a class B felony that carries a penalty of five to 15 years in prison. He already was facing other felony charges for burglary, stealing, tampering and stealing of motor vehicles stemming from incidents in Arnold and St. Louis County, according to court documents.
Fox was arrested Oct. 28 after the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to his home because of a disturbance between family members involving golf clubs, the probable-cause statement in the case said.
The day before that Fox reportedly could be seen in surveillance video entering an open garage at a home in the 1700 block of Primrose Lane in Barnhart and taking two sets of adult golf clubs and one set of children’s golf clubs, while the family was inside the home. He also allegedly could be seen that day trying to sell the golf club sets at Play It Again Sports, 223 Arnold Crossroads Center, the report said.
After deputies arrested Fox, he allegedly said he was facing multiple felony charges. He previously had been charged with felony burglary for an incident in December 2021 in Arnold, as well as with stealing for an incident in March in Arnold and stealing of a motor vehicle and tampering for an incident in May in St. Louis County.
As of Nov. 22, Fox was being held on a $50,000 surety bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro.
