The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two men whose bodies were found this morning (May 14) in a Fenton-area home.
They are Mark Kirkpatrick, 35, of House Springs and Jason Plass, 35, of Defiance, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Sheriff’s Office is calling their deaths a murder-suicide.
Deputies were dispatched at 6:55 a.m. to a house in the 700 block of Pine Haven Drive in the Fenton area after a woman called Jefferson County 911 Dispatch and reported that her estranged husband had called her and said he had shot the woman’s boyfriend and was going to kill himself, the report said.
Kirkpatrick was the woman’s estranged husband, and Plass was her boyfriend, according to the report.
When deputies arrived on the scene and entered the home, they found the two men’s bodies. Each had sustained a single gunshot wound, the report said.
Investigators said Kirkpatrick, who had “an on again off again relationship” with his wife, allegedly went to the Fenton home unannounced, found the victim inside and shot and killed him. Kirkpatrick then called his wife, told her what he had done and said he was going to kill himself before the call was disconnected. The woman then called 911, the report said.
