Authorities are searching for at least five people suspected of breaking into and stealing guns from Denny Dennis Sporting Goods, 1 Gravois Road, in Fenton this week.
St. Louis County Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives St. Louis office are investigating the incident, which occurred at about 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, authorities reported
The ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps with the identification and arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen guns.
Among the stolen guns was a pistol that was being repaired, five .22-caliber guns and an AK-47, altogether valued at $3,500, store owner Denny Dennis said.
He said those guns were not secured in a safe.
Dennis said glass on the front door was broken during the burglary, and the cost to repair the door was estimated at $800.
After the burglary, a white four-door sedan and a black Jeep were seen being driven away from the store, authorities reported.
Dennis said it was the fourth time his business had been burglarized since 2018, including once in 2018 and twice in 2022.
“Before 2018, the store was broken into twice in 61 years,” Dennis said.
Those with information about the burglary may report it to the ATF by calling 1-800-283-4867, emailing ATFTips@atf.gov or submitting it through the bureau’s website, atf.gov.
