A group of men reportedly rummaged through numerous unlocked vehicles in several Arnold neighborhoods on March 8. At least three guns were stolen that morning, Arnold Police reported.
Surveillance footage showed a white Mitsubishi Lancer with at least five men inside driving through the subdivisions, and two of the men allegedly were seen getting in and out of the Lancer and checking vehicle door handles. The men appeared to be armed with guns, the report said.
The Lancer had been reported stolen March 6 in St. Louis, according to the report.
A Glock 43 that belongs to a 29-year-old Arnold man was stolen from an unlocked 2019 Jeep in the 2000 block of Arlene Drive. The gun was valued at about $520, the report said.
A Smith and Wesson .9mm Shield was stolen from an unlocked 2015 Chevrolet Colorado in the 1600 block of Lonedell Road. The gun belongs to a 26-year-old Arnold woman and was valued at $617, police reported.
A Glock 27 40-caliber pistol was stolen from a firearm lock box that was inside an unlocked 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 1600 block of Roy Drive. The gun belongs to a 31-year-old Arnold man and is worth $480, the report said.
In addition, a wallet was stolen from an unlocked 2012 Ford F-150 parked outside the Fox Chase Apartments in the 700 block of Fox Chase Apartments Drive. It was found later on Arlene Drive. The wallet belongs to a 22-year-old Hillsboro man, and $2 and a Social Security card were missing from the wallet, according to the report.
In addition, six vehicles were rummaged through on Polly Drive, police reported.
As of March 17, none of the guns had been recovered, and the suspects who were seen on surveillance footage had not been located, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. Anyone with information about the incident or anyone who had items stolen from their vehicles on March 8 should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
