A 30-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman, both of Arnold, were arrested for alleged drug possession after an officer reportedly saw one of the women trying to force her way into a hotel. The incident happened at about 5:20 p.m. July 23 outside the Quality Inn and Suites, 3610 W. Outer Road, Arnold Police reported.

An officer allegedly saw the 30-year-old trying to open a hotel door while she was arguing with a man who was holding the door closed from inside the hotel, the report said.

After breaking up the fight, the officer discovered the woman arrived at the hotel in a car driven by the 32-year-old. While investigating the disturbance outside the hotel, a police dog alerted officers to the possible presence of drugs inside the car where the other Arnold woman was waiting, according to the report.

Police allegedly found white, bar-shaped pills; capsules containing a white-powdery substance; a green-leafy substance; a crystal-like substance believed to be meth; 27 syringes; burned spoons; a scale; and other drug paraphernalia inside the car and the women’s purses, the report said.

In addition, the 32-year-old was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a felony warrant. The women were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where they were booked. The 32-year-old was held for the Sheriff’s Office and the 30-year-old was released pending application for warrants, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the women through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
