A 32-year-old Arnold woman recently was cited for endangering the welfare of a child after her 2-year-old daughter allegedly was found alone wandering around in a neighbor’s backyard. The incident occurred about 7:20 a.m. Aug. 9, Arnold Police reported.

The girl was found in the backyard of a home in the 1900 block of Lone Pine Drive, which is several houses away from her home. When officers were called about the incident, they found the mother asleep inside her home, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

He said the mother allegedly had left a door open and the 2-year-old “wandered out of the house.” Then, a neighbor found the child, and the police were called.

After the incident, the child was left with an adult family member, and police contacted Children’s Division. In addition, the mother was issued a summons to appear in Municipal Court, Jones said.
