A 47-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs. She was arrested during a traffic stop outside the Taco Bell restaurant, 926 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold Police reported.
At about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 6, officers stopped the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox the suspect was driving because the SUV didn’t have license plates or a rear window. Officers asked the woman if she had any illegal substances in the SUV, and she said she didn’t and told the officers they could search the Equinox. A police dog was called in and alerted officers to the possible presence of drugs in the SUV, the report said.
Inside a phone case in the SUV, an officer allegedly found pills suspected of containing an illegal substance. The woman already was wanted by St. Louis County Police on warrants for traffic violations, according to the report.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
