A 29-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for alleged possession of a highly concentrated form of marijuana referred to as a “dab.” The woman was arrested at 5:25 p.m. April 14 after she was pulled over on I-55, Arnold Police reported.
The woman reportedly was spotted leaving WoodSpring Suites, 888 Arnold Commons Drive, in a 2016 Jeep at a high rate of speed. An officer pulled her over on the interstate near the Meramec River. The officer searched the woman and allegedly found her with drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a brown, wax substance believed to be a dab, the report said.
A dab is made by using butane or another solvent to extract THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and other cannabinoids from cannabis, creating a sticky resinous substance. The extract can be 50 to 80 percent THC, while marijuana is typically 12 to 13 percent THC. It is popular to smoke “dab” with an e-cigarette or vaporizer. Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said it is a felony to possess that form of marijuana.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and later released pending application for warrants. Depending on drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Wooldridge said.
