A 38-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following an accident on Vogel Road. A 15-year-old child was in the SUV the woman was driving, Arnold Police reported.

Officers were called on Aug. 26 to the Richardson Crossing shopping plaza, where the Schnucks grocery store is located at 3900 Vogel Road, following the accident. The woman was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, and she allegedly hit a 2013 Toyota Tundra driven by a 36-year-old Fenton man, the report said.

The woman was turning left out of the shopping plaza when the left front corner of the SUV she was driving hit the left front corner of the pickup. The man was driving into the shopping plaza from the West Outer Road, according to the report.

No injuries were reported, and the SUV and pickup had minimal damage, Arnold Police reported.

The woman allegedly appeared intoxicated and was arrested after she failed field sobriety tests and a breath test, the report said.

She was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending the application for charges. The child was released to a family member, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek a charge against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for DWI and endangering the welfare of a child, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
