An Arnold Police officer arrested a woman who was working at the Paisano Mexican Restaurant after she allegedly was caught flushing drugs down a toilet in the restroom. The officer was called to the restaurant, 1424 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold about a disturbance that did not involve the employee, authorities reported.

At about 9:22 p.m. Dec. 15, the officer arrived at the restaurant, and the disturbance was over, but the officer recognized that a 27-year-old Arnold woman who was working at the restaurant was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a felony burglary warrant. The officer also recognized her from prior drug-related arrests, the report said.

When the woman saw the officer, she ran into the restroom. The officer allegedly heard the toilet flushing and believed the woman was getting rid of illegal drugs, according to the report.

The officer said the woman tried to hold the restroom door shut, but he got inside and found a purple eyeglass case that reportedly belonged to the woman near a trash can. The case allegedly contained four capsules filled a white crystal-like substance, as well as two spoons, three syringes and a rubber arm tie, the report said.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Arnold Police Station, where she was booked and then transferred to Jefferson County Jail. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
