Arnold Police are trying to find a 33-year-old Imperial man who reportedly stole merchandise from Lowe’s twice in a one week. The man allegedly walked out of the store, 920 Arnold Commons Drive, with the items after his debit card was declined, police reported.
The store reported the alleged thefts on April 26, and an employee said the man stole the items on April 17 and April 24. In all, the stolen merchandise was worth $1,790, the report said.
On April 17, the man attempted to use a debit card to purchase DeWalt and Craftsman tools worth $869, but after the card was declined, he walked out of the store with the tools, according to the report.
He returned to the store on April 24 and again tried to use a debit card to buy a welder and gloves worth $921. The card the man was using was again declined, and he allegedly walked out of the store with the merchandise, the report said.
As of May 4, officers had not found the man, and none of the stolen items had been recovered, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information abut the man or the thefts to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
