A 27-year-old Arnold man was arrested after officers allegedly found illegal substances and loaded guns in a car he was driving. The car was stopped because of an equipment violation, Arnold Police reported.
The Arnold man was driving a 2001 Mercedes at about 1:35 a.m. March 7 near the intersection of Tony and Rose drives when an officer stopped him. He was arrested because he was driving with a suspended license, and an officer allegedly found the man with a bag containing what appeared to be an illegal substance, the report said.
A police dog was brought to the scene and alerted officers that more illegal substances might be inside the vehicle. Officers allegedly found what they believed was cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs in the center console, according to the report.
Three loaded guns allegedly were found in the glove box and in a jacket inside the car, the report said.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and driving with a revoked license, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
