Arnold Police are searching for a 41-year-old House Springs man who allegedly fled from an officer during an attempted traffic stop. The man already was wanted on at least 10 warrants for stealing and domestic violence, authorities reported.

At about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 22, an officer saw the man driving a 2001 Ford F-150 on Richardson Road, and because plastic was covering the pickup’s windows, the officer checked its license plates, which were issued to a different pickup. The officer turned on his cruiser’s lights and sirens, and the man turned on his turn signal and appeared to be turning into a church parking lot, but instead made a U-turn on Richardson Road and drove onto northbound I-55, the report said.

The officer chased the man, who was driving slowly, and then passed the pickup and set up stop sticks on the interstate, but the pickup got off I-55 at the Hwy. 141 exit. Other officers joined the pursuit as the pickup traveled east on Hwy. 141 before turning north onto Jeffco Boulevard, according to the report.

Another officer set up stop sticks at the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Starling Airport Road, but the pickup avoided those stop sticks by turning onto Starling Airport Road. Officers continued the chase on Starling Airport Road, following it as it turned onto Manufacturers Drive and then onto Arnold Tenbrook Road, where the man pulled over next to the railroad tracks, abandoned the pickup and escaped into a wooded area, Arnold Police reported.

Officers discovered a stolen 2007 Triumph motorcycle in the pickup, but the F-150 had not been reported stolen, according to the report.

As of Dec. 30, the driver had not been located, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said. He asks anyone with information about the suspect to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
