Arnold Police are investigating a rash of recent vehicle break-ins on the same day, including four at the Drury Inn, 3800 Hwy. 141, and two in the 3200 block of Rosedale Drive. The break-ins occurred early Aug. 20, police reported.
Three guns and other items were stolen from the vehicles, and damage to the six vehicles was estimated at more than $5,000. Police believe the break-ins in both areas were related, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
Arnold Police began receiving reports about the thefts shortly after 6 a.m. Aug. 20, the report said.
A 57-year-old Thayer man reported that the driver-side door was damaged and the passenger-side window was broken on his 2017 Toyota Tacoma parked at the hotel. A 9mm Ruger gun valued at $450 was stolen from the pickup. The damage to the pickup was estimated $800, according to a report.
Also at the hotel, a 59-year-old Courtland, Miss., man said his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado was broken into and the driver-side window and door frame were damaged. In addition, a 9mm Taurus gun, 9mm ammunition and a backpack were stolen from the pickup. The gun and ammunition were valued at $320, and the damage to the vehicle was estimated at $750, the report said.
A 54-year-old Hot Springs, Ark., man reported that the rear driver-side window and door were damaged on his 2019 GMC Canyon parked at the hotel. He said a .380 Diamondback gun and a Leatherman tool were stolen from the pickup. The gun and tool were valued at $325, and the damage was estimated at $900, according to the report.
A 46-year-old Soddy Daisy, Tenn., man said the driver-side door and window on his 2019 Ford Expedition were damaged, but nothing was reported stolen. The damage was estimated at $750, the report said.
On Rosedale Drive, a window was smashed and trim was damaged on the driver-side door of a 49-year-old Arnold woman’s 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe. In addition, about $955 worth of electronics and tools were stolen from the SUV. The damage to the Tahoe was estimated at $700, according to the report.
Also on Rosedale Drive, the driver-side windows were broken on a 54-year-old Arnold man’s 2018 Ford F-150 and $6 in change was stolen from the pickup. The damage to the F-150 was estimated at $1,200, the report said.
As of Aug. 27, none of the missing items had been recovered and there were no suspects, Wooldridge said. Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
