Arnold Police officers arrested a 39-year-old St. Louis woman for alleged drug possession following a traffic stop. They also arrested a 35-year-old St. Louis man on outstanding warrants, police reported.
Officers stopped the woman, who was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, on Jan. 12 in the 2200 block of Michigan Avenue because the car did not have license plates. During the stop, a police dog indicated there might be illegal drugs in the car, the report said.
Officers allegedly found substances suspected of being methamphetamine and heroin along with drug paraphernalia in the woman’s bag. The officers also learned the man traveling in the car was wanted by the Ballwin and St. Louis police for active warrants, according to the report.
The woman and man were taken to the Arnold police station, where they were booked. The woman was released pending the application for warrants, and the man was held for the other agencies, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
