Two St. Louis men were arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of drugs, including heroin and Fentanyl, after a pickup they were in was stopped on Hwy. 141 near Astra Way. The pickup was pulled over at about 11:10 p.m. July 27, Arnold Police reported.

An officer stopped the 2002 Dodge Ram because it did not have license plates displayed. When the officer approached the pickup, the driver appeared to be putting something in the center console, the report said.

The driver, a 40-year-old St. Louis man, said he didn’t have a driver’s license. He also said he had an outstanding warrant in St. Louis County for felony possession of marijuana, according to the report.

When the driver was asked if anything illegal was in the pickup, he allegedly told the officer there were some hypodermic needles in a bag over his shoulder. The officer searched the pickup and allegedly found a substance believed to be heroin in the center console, the report said.

A 37-year-old St. Louis man who was riding in the pickup allegedly was found with a substance that appeared to be Fentanyl, the report said.

The men were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, and the police will seek a charge of driving with a revoked license against the driver, Capt. Rich Shular said.
