Arnold Police arrested a 35-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman for alleged possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. The woman was arrested after the officers stopped to see if she needed help changing a tire near the intersection of Sunset Drive and Jeffco Boulevard, police reported.
The officer stopped to check on the woman at about 9:10 p.m. May 29 when she was changing a tire on a 2019 Buick Encore. The woman appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and she reportedly provided a fake name, the report said.
The officer also allegedly saw a clear plastic bag sticking out of her shirt, and it looked like the bag contained a substance that appeared to be meth. The woman was arrested for suspicion of drug possession, and when the officer searched the SUV, he allegedly found additional bags containing substances believed to be meth and other items consistent with drug distribution, according to the report.
Arnold Police did not say what other items were found in the Encore.
The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked. While there, another officer allegedly found other illegal items in her clothing, including a container with pills inside and a syringe containing a liquid substance, the report said.
The woman also was wanted by the St. Charles County and St. Louis County police departments on warrants for drug trafficking, and she was wanted by the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office for a parole violation. She was held for one of the other law enforcement agencies, according to the report.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance inside a jail facility, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false information, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
