Arnold Police sweep 90-unit apartment complex on Crosswinds Drive; cite 9 junk vehicles, truant, but come up empty on crook search

Arnold Police got a call about suspicious activity at a home on Bridgeview Court and ended up arresting a 57-year-old St. Louis man and a 31-year-old Crystal City woman. The man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine and outstanding warrants, and the woman was arrested on outstanding warrants, police reported.

Arnold Police were called to the home about 7:40 p.m. Aug. 14, and when officers arrived at the scene, the suspects reportedly said they were getting items from the home for the person who lived there. So, police contacted the resident and was told the pair did not have permission to be there and remove any items, Lt. Tom Leassner said.

The man allegedly was found with a substance believed to be meth in his pocket and was wanted in St. Louis County on an outstanding warrant. The woman was wanted in St. Louis and Crystal City on outstanding warrants, Leassner said.

The man was booked and then held for St. Louis County Police. The woman was booked, and after allegedly making suicidal statements, was released to Rock Township Ambulance personnel to be transported to an area hospital, Leassner said.

Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony drug charges.
