A 40-year-old Arnold man was arrested for reportedly stealing a jump starter worth $265 from NAPA Auto Parts in Arnold. After the man allegedly stole the item from the store, 2100 Tenbrook Road, he was identified and arrested at his home on Ryan Road, Arnold Police reported.

The theft happened at about 4:10 p.m. May 11. An employee got a license plate number from the vehicle the man left in and gave the information, along with a good description of the man, to Arnold Police, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.

Ackermann said police used the information to identify the man and find him at his home. The man already was wanted in St. Louis County for a felony probation violation, the report said.

The suspect was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked. After the booking, the man allegedly told police he had taken 10 capsules of fentanyl, so Rock Township Ambulance was called to transport him to an area hospital for evaluation, according to the report.

The man was issued a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for misdemeanor stealing, Ackermann said.
