A 56-year-old Imperial man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following an accident on Vogel Road near the West Outer Road in Arnold. The man had been convicted of at least three prior DWI charges, Arnold Police reported.
The man allegedly registered a .264 percent blood-alcohol content, more than three times the legal limit in Missouri, which is .08 percent, police reported.
Arnold Police got a call about the accident at approximately 12:30 p.m. Oct. 8, after the suspect, who was driving a 2012 GMC Canyon, allegedly hit the rear of a 2017 Kia Soul. A 21-year-old Imperial woman was driving the Soul, according to the report.
No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene, according to the report.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held until he was sober. Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for being a persistent DWI offender, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
