A 33-year-old Crestwood woman was arrested for allegedly trying to fraudulently obtain a loan for the second time in less than a month at World Finance in Arnold. The woman was applying for an $1,800 loan after previously securing a $1,600.57 loan at the same personal loan company, 1450 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold Police reported.
Officers were called at about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 22 to the business after the woman allegedly provided a fake Social Security card and ID while applying for the $1,800 loan. The employees recognized the woman from a Dec. 1 transaction when she allegedly secured the $1,600.57 loan with fraudulent documents, the report said.
The woman already was wanted for a probation violation. She also was wanted on warrants from multiple other law enforcement agencies, according to the report.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office wanted her on a felony stealing warrant, St. Louis Police wanted her on a warrant for tampering, St. Louis County Police wanted her on a stealing warrant, Webster Groves Police wanted her on a warrant for speeding, Breckinridge Police wanted her on a warrant for stealing a car, Herculaneum Police wanted her on a warrant for driving with expired license plates and St. Peters Police wanted her on a warrant for obstructing an officer, the report said.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Arnold Police Station, where she was booked and held for another law enforcement agency. Arnold Police will seek charges against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for forgery and identity theft, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
