Arnold Police are investigating the theft of more than $1,300 in items from a home in the 1800 block of Elm Drive and more than $1,000 in damage to I-55 Store It, 3401 Robinson Drive. The same man is suspected in both incidents, which occurred the morning of April 3, Capt. Rich Shular said.
Police responded to an alarm at the I-55 Store It storage business at about 4:20 a.m. that day. Surveillance footage reportedly showed a man climb the business’s fence, break into three storage units and cut through a metal wall to enter the business’s office. One of the three owners of the storage units was contacted, and nothing was reported missing, the report said.
At 7 a.m., a man wearing the same hooded sweatshirt and with the same build as the suspect in the storage business break-in reportedly could be seen on surveillance footage breaking into the home on Elm Drive and stealing a Kimber 45-caliber gun, jewelry and $25 in change. The total value of the stolen items was $1,325, according to the report.
As of April 15, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and the man on the surveillance footage had not been identified, Shular said. He asks anyone with information about the incidents to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
