A 25-year-old Arnold woman and a 29-year-old Arnold man were arrested for alleged possession of heroin during a traffic stop. The two were arrested about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 after the car they were in was stopped at the Drury Inn and Suites, 3800 Hwy. 141, Arnold Police reported.

Officers stopped the 2006 Hyundai Sonata in the hotel’s parking lot after identifying the male passenger as someone wanted by St. Louis Metropolitan Police for a felony probation violation. The man initially refused to get out of the car, but he eventually complied, the report said.

A K-9 officer, or police dog, alerted officers that illegal drugs allegedly were in the car. Officers searched it and allegedly found four yellow capsules, three green capsules, two black capsules and orange-capped syringes, and the man and woman were arrested and taken to the Police Station, according to the report.

While at the Police Station, officers allegedly found a clear plastic bag containing a yellow capsule concealed under the man’s clothing, as well as a clear plastic cellophane wrapper containing two capsules and an orange tablet under the woman’s clothes, the report said.

The man was held for St. Louis Police, and the woman was booked and later released pending application for warrants. Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office against the man for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest and against the woman for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
