man in handcuffs

A 28-year-old Arnold man was arrested for alleged possession of heroin after police were called to a home on Crosswinds Drive because of an apparent overdose. The man had to be revived, but medical personnel did not have to use Narcan, Arnold Police reported.

Police arrived at the home at about 3:05 a.m. Oct. 14. After the man was revived, officers learned he was wanted in St. Louis for a probation violation for multiple felonies, the report said.

Officers also reportedly found several bags that contained a substance believed to be heroin in the man’s pockets. He also allegedly was found with a gun, according to the report.

He was arrested and taken to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County for treatment. The man was released from the hospital and then taken to the Jefferson County Jail, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, as well as for unlawful use of a weapon because he is a convicted felon in possession of a gun, Capt. Rich Shular said.
