Eureka Police arrested a 42-year-old Arnold man for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he allegedly registered more than three times the legal limit for blood-alcohol content. The man was arrested just before 11 p.m. Feb. 23, Eureka Police reported.
Officers were dispatched at 10:52 p.m. to the Circle K gas station, 100 Old Towne Drive, after receiving a report of an intoxicated driver there in a 1999 Ford F-150. When police arrived, the pickup was on the station’s parking lot, but the man allegedly drove away, headed north on Central Avenue, the report said.
The driver eventually was pulled over, and he reportedly showed signs of being intoxicated. He allegedly failed a field sobriety test, so he was arrested and transported to the Police Station, according to the report.
The man allegedly registered a .257 blood-alcohol content, according to the report. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
When officers searched the pickup, they allegedly found alcohol and a bag of a green, leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana, the report said.
The man was held until he was sober and then released. Eureka Police will seek charges against him through the Eureka Municipal Court for DWI and possession of marijuana, Capt. David Wilson said.
