man in handcuffs

A 45-year-old Arnold man was arrested for reportedly following his wife in violation of a restraining order. The wife is in the process of divorcing the man, and when Arnold Police officers pulled over the man, they allegedly found brass knuckles, a gun, methamphetamine and tracking devices in the car he was driving, police reported.

The woman called police at about 11:15 a.m. April 12 to Century Credit Union, 3920 Jeffco Blvd., after she allegedly used her phone to record her husband following her in a 2012 Nissan Altima, the report said.

As the officer spoke with the woman about the incident, the man drove by in the Altima. Another officer who responded to the credit union stopped the man at the BP gas station, 3700 Jeffco Blvd., and arrested him for violating the court order, according to the report.

The officer allegedly found brass knuckles in the car, along with a vial containing a white-powdery substance and a straw with a white-powdery substance in the driver-side door, a black camera bag on the rear passenger-side floorboard that contained seven vials filled with white-powdery substances, a plastic bag containing a white-powdery substance, a plastic bag with a white, crystal-like substance, a metal grinder, a scale, wooden sticks and spoons believed to be used to package narcotics and several plastic bags commonly used to sell narcotics. All the white substances found were believed to be meth, Arnold Police reported.

The officer also allegedly found a loaded .9mm Hi-Point gun in the center console. The court order prohibited the man from having a gun, the report said.

In addition, the officer reportedly found a black case that contained GPS tracking devices, batteries and accessories. There were two devices in the box, and a third one was missing, according to the report.

The woman said last year, she found a GPS tracking device on her vehicle like the devices in the Altima, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for violating a court order, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a firearm, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
