A 25-year-old Arnold man was arrested for allegedly threatening a De Soto man with a knife. However, the Arnold man was scared away when the other man pulled out a gun, Arnold Police reported.
The incident occurred just before noon on Aug. 1 after the two men began arguing outside the Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill restaurant, 131 Arnold Crossroads Center, the report said.
The De Soto man, whose age was not reported, said the Arnold man pulled out a knife while they argued, so he pulled out his gun and pointed it at the Arnold man, who dropped the knife and ran away, according to the report.
Arnold Police reported recovering the knife in the parking lot. Officers did not arrest the De Soto man because he was legally carrying a gun and had pointed it at the other man in self-defense, the report said.
An officer found the Arnold man a short time later at nearby Fox High School, 751 Jeffco Blvd. The officer arrested the man without incident, Arnold Police reported.
The officer issued the Arnold man summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for alleged fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, Det. Lt. Jeremey Christopher said.
