A 31-year-old Arnold man has been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a home in the 2400 block of Tenbrook Road, stealing a checkbook and a debit card and using them to make purchases. The burglary was reported May 22 and the suspect was arrested the same day, Arnold Police report.
The man is related to the victim and previously lived at the home. He wasn’t supposed to be at the home and allegedly broke a window to get inside and then stole the items, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
The suspect allegedly used the debit card to complete 21 transactions, for a total of $897.76. In addition, he allegedly forged one of the checks and used it to make a $19.28 transaction, the report said.
Arnold Police took the man into custody, booked him and released him pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for burglary, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit device, Jones said.
