man in handcuffs

A 39-year-old Arnold man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance after he was found slumped behind the wheel of a car parked outside the Quality Inn in Arnold. The man was found at the hotel parking lot, 3610 W. Outer Road, at about 8 p.m. July 29, Arnold Police reported.

Police were called to the hotel because the car, a 2002 Kia Rio, was parked sideways across multiple spots in the parking lot. When police arrived, they allegedly found the man asleep in the driver’s seat, the report said.

The man woke up when the officers approached the vehicle. Police discovered he was wanted by numerous agencies on outstanding warrants, according to the report.

He was arrested, and when officers searched the car, they allegedly found a black case that contained syringes, capsules and a burnt spoon, according to the report.

The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held for one of the law enforcement agencies that wanted him. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
